Set up Talk & Comment in Google Slides

Talk & Comment works in Google Slides when the extension is installed, so you can leave voice feedback without leaving your presentation.

Steps

  1. Open Google Slides in Chrome.
  2. Click the Talk & Comment mic in the extension toolbar.
  3. Record your note and stop when you’re done.
  4. Paste the link where you want it (comment thread, speaker notes, or a text box).
  5. Confirm the inline player renders. The paste → render step is required for the player to appear.

Notes

  • The link is copied automatically after upload—just paste it where you want the feedback to live.
  • Important for assignments: Google Slides does not copy comments when you use “Make a copy for each student.” If you want voice notes to carry into each student copy, put TAC links in Speaker Notes or on-slide text (instead of comments).
  • Anyone can listen to the link (even without the extension), but the inline player appears for people with the extension installed.
