Set up Talk & Comment in Google Slides
Talk & Comment works in Google Slides when the extension is installed, so you can leave voice feedback without leaving your presentation.
Steps
- Open Google Slides in Chrome.
- Click the Talk & Comment mic in the extension toolbar.
- Record your note and stop when you’re done.
- Paste the link where you want it (comment thread, speaker notes, or a text box).
- Confirm the inline player renders. The paste → render step is required for the player to appear.
Notes
- The link is copied automatically after upload—just paste it where you want the feedback to live.
- Important for assignments: Google Slides does not copy comments when you use “Make a copy for each student.” If you want voice notes to carry into each student copy, put TAC links in Speaker Notes or on-slide text (instead of comments).
- Anyone can listen to the link (even without the extension), but the inline player appears for people with the extension installed.
